Vindication

As John Cole notes, the last week was the most stunning vindication of the Bush doctrine since 9/11. I've had nothing but a smile on my face about this for a while now.

Of course, there will still be bad news. There always is. But with Iran now finally beginning to capitulate on nuclear weapons, France and Germany granting the legitimacy of the Iraq war and forgiving some of Iraq's debts, and the Libyan dictator now admitting his past wrongs, making restitution, disarming, (and most important of all, telling us his sources for WMDs so we can find out where he got them and shut those channels of distribution down), I can't think of a better result.

You're either with us or you're with the terrorists. The message has been heard loud and clear in Afghanistan, Iraq, and now, apparently, Libya. Iran next? Let's hope.

As we've seen here, on other threads, the spinners are already at work claiming that Kaddafy's decision had nothing to do with the Bush Doctrine; that it was coincidence.

I suppose the fact that Syria has arrested Al Qaeda agents smuggling $23.5 million is coincidence, too... Heh.
