Iraqi Foreign Minister Lays Into UN

The Iraqi foreign minister gave an address to the United Nations yesterday. With UN Secretary General Kofi Annan present, along with the rest of the security council, Iraqi foreign minister Hoshyar Zebari laid into the United Nations.

Amongst other things, he said, "One year ago, the Security Council was divided between those who wanted to appease Saddam Hussein and those who wanted to hold him accountable....The UN as an organisation failed to help rescue the Iraqi people from a murderous tyranny of 35 years. The UN must not fail the Iraqi people again."

All I have to say is this: Go get 'em, Hoshyar.

Zebari administered an excellent spanking to a groups that richly deserved one. Good job.

Good for him! It's about time somebody spoke up about the uselessness of the UN.

The article is a must-read. Annan's quotes are amazing admissions of the impossibility of the UN helping things, and its unseriousness in the face of its history in the region. And *this* is the group that the Democrats want to "internationalize" with. The implosion that began with their circling the wagons around Clinton (which drove me from the party) continues with their instinctive rush to support Koffi freakin' Annan.

I have had it up to HERE with mister "holier than thou" Kofi Annan.

He is a despicable, dishonest bureaucrat, and a gutless coward to boot.

If this is the best that the UN can produce, piss on 'em.
