A Favorite Song

Djoodl-a-djang-djang-dja-jang
Djoodl-a-djang-djang-dja-jang
Djoodl-a-djang-djang-dja-jang
I've got to run to keep from hiding
And I'm bound to keep on riding.
I've got one more silver dollar,
But I'm not gonna let them catch me, no,
Not gonna let 'em catch the Midnight Rider...
I don't own the clothes I'm wearing
And the road goes on forever
I've got one more silver dollar,
But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no
Not gonna let 'em catch the Midnight Rider...
What a great song. I used to have several versions of it. My favorite is Gregg Allman's (without the rest of the bros) version.
Not bad, Dean. Not bad. Heh.
To me, there is no Allman Brothers without Duane.
His was the tragic death in the music world.
Tim: I love Duane Allman, but you seriously need to pick up the Allman Brothers Live at the Beacaon DVD. The band is phenomenal these days. Not in one of those "yeah we're a bunch of old farts doing our greatest hits from 30 years ago" gigs, either. They're doing new music that is as awesome as anything they did back in the day, and playing the old stuff too, and are generally smoking.
Shoot. Dude. If you send me your address, I'll buy you a copy for Christmas. I'm that serious. If you're an Allmans fan, you need to buy this. No lie. It'll blow you away.
Tim --
Dean is right. Until I saw and heard the Allman "Bros." Band perform last summer, I thought it was over, too.
And I'll send you a picture of myself in a dashing winter thong. Thanks guys, I'm running out this weekend to pick up the DVD. The thong will have to remain in the drawer.
This dashing winter thong, Tim?
And yes, as much as I miss the Skydog, the recent recording of Midnight Rider featuring Derek Trucks kicked major ass.
