The primary national vehicles of our two major political parties are the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee. If you're interested in politics, both sites are worth watching on at least a semi-regular basis. Both sites will let you sign up for mailing lists, too. It's rather compelling to see the similarities and differences between them.
Sometimes you catch stuff on them before it makes it into the news, too. That's how I first found out about the ad the Republicans are broadcasting in Iowa around the time of the Democratic debates. It's a fairly effective ad I'd say, and virtually demands a Democratic response. Although they don't have one yet, I expect they will, and it'll probably be fairly angry and accusatory. You can see the Bush ad by clicking here, although it requires RealPlayer. If you don't have that, then you can read the script by clicking here.
I'll let you know about the Democratic response ad if and when it comes out, although if you just check the RNC and DNC sites semi-regularly you may see it before I do.
"mamiling lists"? -- Part of me thinks you really meant to type "maiming lists" :-)
But I agree, it's useful to watch what both parties are doing.
Gah! Stupid fingers!
Typo fixed.
I live in Iowa and first heard/saw the ad when it aired. Me and my GF exchanged Hi-fives when we saw it, I love its message and its timing.
It is also working to an extent, as a part of a larger message. My most staunch Democratic friends are all in despair over their current crop of choices. Ads like this one will help swing the undecideds, given how much self-doubt is in the ranks on the moderate left at this early stage, they are carrying little influence.
