Blogrolls Broken!
Kevin McGehee reports that Blogrolling.com has been hacked.
Blogrolling.com is a very popular service among webloggers that lists weblogs to visit. I've been using it for a while. Apparently, webloggers all over the planet have had their blogrolls replaced with a single link saying to visit something called "Laura's place."
For now, I'm disabling my blogroll, until this mess gets sorted out.
* Update * Hmm. Looks like it's fixed for now.* Update 2 * It looks like it was not a hacker, just a glitch in the matrix.
So now we're all adrift, blindly groping for updated blogs, or reluctantly finding some other blogger who has maintained a manual list.
This will give all of us incentive to keep (a few, some, all?) our links on our own servers.
I didn't even notice! (because I do keep my roll locally!) Hey Dean, did you notice Saturday's Day by Day cartoon?

Mine got hosed as well. Am now putting it back together. Don't know whether to include this page in the new blogroll ;-)
At least I now get a chance to reexamine the contents of the thing. Pain in the ass hack, as it looks like each of 45 instances of Laura's Place needs to be individually deleted, or the whole thing has to go. Somebody really likes this Laura it seems, as links to my blog (and its blogroll) have been sprinkled all over the web. I don't mind the traffic, though.
Nevermind (about the cartoon). I guess I didn't read back far enough in your blog this morning.
My old blogrolling.com 'roll is down, too. But I moved most of my better links to a new non-blogrolling blogroll, and that's working.
If you need to use a blogroll, drop by my place and use mine, until blogrolling gets it together.
Riyadh delenda est!
They're back.
Looks like I missed the fun.
