Blogging and Politics
Well, it's official. Not only is the Howard "Angryman" Dean campaign running a blog, but so is the Bush Campaign.
Blogs are now an official part of the political landscape.

Dean's World Defending the liberal tradition in history, science, and philosophy. |
Wouldn't it be great if they wrote their own blog posts and left really trollish comments and snarky trackbacks on their opponents blogs?
And Best of the Web today is reporting that Dean is paying bloggers to post enthusiastic, pro-Dean comments on his blog....
These are "blogs" in format. But does it count if you don't link to other bloggers? Hmmmm...
There was a bit of PR for the "Sharon Davis Blog" -- which wasn't really a blog (kind of like Davis wasn't really a governor):

Check it out while it is still online. Her last post was on Sept. 29...perhaps indicating a loss of enthusiasm (hope).
PAYING to have people write enthusiastic stuff, huh? That's pathetic -- no, not the idea of paying, the assumption people would need to be paid to post enthusiastic stuff.
If we have learned anything as a nation the three years -- it's that AMericans are idiots. Oh, I don't mean to insult my country, but when 70 percent of Americans think there is a link between Saddam and 9-11, and the same percentage vote Ah-nold into office, it seems like my theory is supported.
How does this relate to blog posts that are over the top supportive? Their are idiots out there -- have GOT to be -- that think showing support like that is vital. "It works for Bush..."
Besides, if Dean is paying people to post over-the-top positive stuff, then guys like Kerry and Clark and others have to be paying their blog posters to go over to Dean's site and troll - because some of THOSE people showing up on the Blogforamerica.com site are just as over-the-top supportive of their candidates.
Tony,
Why would thinking there's a link between Saddam and 9/11 make a person stupid? I think that failure to understand the link between Saddam and 9/11 makes a person willfully blind.
While it's unlikely that Saddam planned 9/11 or even knew about it, that he had links to, and supported, Al Qaeda is increasingly apparent. The Bill Mahers of the world can make fun all they want, they're just shallow people.
I guess that technically, they're blogs, but...
Where's the snark? And the hyperlinks?
