Toys For Iraq/Wiggles Update
The non-profit corporation is up and we have our tax ID. We have the beginning page up and in place, and a domain registered and ready to go.
We think we have a hosting service, and may have our first sponsor.
We're hoping to open early next week.
Amazing fast progress, Dean.
If I were there and could do so in a most humble way, I would look right into your eyes, give you a big hug, and tell you how very proud I am of you, Dean.
Then I imagine you would reply; "Thank you, Mrs. Reitsma, but I can't take credit, a lot of people have helped me out."
I would respond, " Dean, you took the time to post the story of Chief Wiggles because his story touched you deeply. You posted a quiz to your readers and asked us if we knew of how his story was similar to a another man serving his country."
I am sure there are a lot of readers that come to your blog that would agree with me. I am thrilled that we are able to do something for the children in Iraq, and because your heart was touched by Chief Wiggles, so was mine, and so was each and every person that has joined in to help you!
...Just remember, it takes just one person to care...and that was you Dean.
May the Lord Bless you,
Mrs.Reitsma
We are planning on supporting the Toys for Iraq and sending them to Chiefwiggles. I am sure that your 501C3 status will help us get bigger/better/more donations had we not had the 501C3 status. Please work with me, and allow me and my military unit to use your tax exemption code. Thank you Art.
I'll shoot you a note, Art!
Dean,
I would appreciate it if you could let me know when this is up - I've know some folks at some media outlets, and I would like to be able to kick a complete packet and "human interest story in a box" so we can start building up some more participation.
I've gotten two others to donate - but I think the page and full-blown setup will make it much easier to start generating some momentum in time for the holiday season.
And Dean, it can't be said enough, thanks for helping get this effort off the ground. Without folks like you, Matt Evans and the Chief, the world would be a darker and meaner place.
