I could not believe it when I first read it. But, the hardcopy of the magazine has a photo of the letter itself.

Naaah.

I think the little SOB was just getting an early start bullshitting the US. The only difference was that FDR was smarter than most people, and turned him down. :)

I don't know. I can picture a spoiled brat Fidelito waiting and waiting and waiting for that crisp sawbuck only to be disappointed by the "Imperialista FDR." I think, this is where all his hatred of the US may have seeded.
