More for Wiggles
Matt Evans of The Buck Stops Here has volunteered to set up a domain for the toys for Iraq project. Michele Catalano is almost done with the first draft of a page for the site, and we're collecting all the buttons people have sent for it. Val Prieto says he'll catch the email for the project, and we've gotten some other good suggestions.
However, we still need more help, though, so chime in if you've got some more ideas, and especially if you're willing to volunteer.
Dean,
The ZogbyBlog writers and relatives have bought about $100.00 worth of assorted items for mothers, babies, girl and boys and shipped it out yesterday. I'm willing to volunteer in any way I can. Please e-mail me and let me know what I can do - anything!
I will help sending models of dolls, making pages of choosen toys which you can use the codes, and I can help in HTML programing, design and configuration.
Regards,
Dean,
One thing I know from my travels is that we can find most of the immediate needs in local markets. I think it is important to have a contact or two in Iraq who can speak with the shop owners, negotiate the different stuff we need (cloths, shoes, toothbrushes, paste, etc...) and buy it directly there. Toothbrushexpress is funny, but lastly it might become really expensive if individuals send their toothbrush to Iraq. The simplest would be having sponsors to ship a large amount of toothbrush at once to Chief Wiggle, having locals to buy an amount of flip flops, cloths and the real need with the money we collect, and go on with the toys operation to send only what they cannot find in Iraq as would be plushes and games.
That's only a suggestion.
Regards,
Nice work! Just make sure you don't send any Barbie dolls.
Dean, If there's anything we can do to help, technical or otherwise, please let me know. Telecommuting has its advantages
