Lately, there have been a few comments left here in Dean's World from obvious spammers, who want to sell products, or political causes. They leave a normal-looking comment, only it's obviously some sort of advertisement when you read it.
Tonight, Howard Dean's campaign supporters made the mistake of leaving a spam in the Dean's World comments.
This is the moment I decided to invoke Mrs. du Toit's troll rule, with one modification: spammers get the same treatment.
From this point forward, if you leave either a trolling message or a spam in the comments to Dean's World, my wife Rosemary will edit your message. Purely for the purposes of correcting your grammar and making sure you said what you really MEANT to say, as opposed to whatever deranged psychobabble came out of you.
I won't show you the original Howard Dean spam we got, but I will show you what it looks like now. I'm sure you'll agree that it now reads perfectly:
I just want you to know that I used to love Howard Dean. This is my website. But I just found out that Howard Dean fantasizes about being a 13 year old girl in bondage and wishes he could be Ronald Reagan's sex toy. He hates the Jews and the darkies, but especially the jews because he thinks they have all the money and won't give him any.I really hate him now. If you hate him too, please come to the website and tell me just how much!!
He is a real rat bastard.
Email me your thoughts on this stinkin' racist anti-semite. I'd love to hear from you !

I sincerely hope you write to Laura in DC with your thoughts on her helpful campaign messages left at random in blogs all over the web.
Any and all further advertisements or trollings, from anyone, for any reason, will receive similar special editing cleanup from my wife.
Just to, you know, make sure people understand what you REALLY meant to say.
BTW: If I get ONE stinking spam from the "Blogs4Bush" people, they get the same treatment.
I MEAN IT!
Don't forget the ever off topic BLOG IRAN guy...
How about the Blogs for Zomby contingent. I mean, that's a good cause.
Heheheh.
Now I'm hoping one of my friends at Blogs for Bush does do it...just so I can see the editing...
Oh, I really like your new policy-go get em Rosemary!
Such a policy was the first thing I implemented when I started blogging. The input forms all have the following at the top:
WARNING:I have no problems altering your message to something personally embarrassing if you're rude
This amazes me. My yahoo email address was inexplicably subscribed to some Howard Dean Yahoo Group, complete with bi-weekly email updates.
Spam from a presidential nominee. How scary is that ? I guess you can at least conclude that support for anti-spam legislation would not be high on the list of "things to do" under a Howard Dean presidency.
That's not right.
Man: Well, what've you got?
Waitress: Well, there's egg and bacon; egg sausage and bacon; egg and spam; egg bacon and spam; egg bacon sausage and spam; spam bacon sausage and spam; spam egg spam spam bacon and spam; spam sausage spam spam bacon spam tomato and spam;
Vikings: Spam spam spam spam...
Waitress: ...spam spam spam egg and spam; spam spam spam spam spam spam baked beans spam spam spam...
Vikings: Spam! Lovely spam! Lovely spam!
Drezner got hit by Laura in DC yesterday, too. I can't think of a worse marketing ploy - targetting people alredy inclined against Dean, and then annoying them with spam. Must be a right-wing plant...
Don't all you people see that "Laura in DC" is a Karl Rove operative trying to discredit Howard Dean? Karl Rove is THE most powerful man in the universe, you know.
Laura in DC? As in Laura... BUSH!?!?
Lara Croft.
Yikes! Sheesh...I did not realize I was going to cause so much commotion. I am not a Karl Rove operative...I am just a college student with a new blog trying to make some "blogfriends". I did not realize so many people were going to get offended...go ahead and post comments on my blog advertising yours...I really don't care. I issued an apology earlier on my blog, if you care to read it.
BTW, your post stigmatizing me was responsible for at least 10 hits to my website, so thank you for the free advertising and the traffic that came with it.
