So. It appears that the Saudis believe that bin Laden planned the 9/11 attacks to hurt the Saudi royal family.

Believe it or not, I can buy the notion that bin Laden would have picked mostly Saudi citizens for a variety of reasons, and that one of them would have been wanting to embarass the Saudi royal family. He does detest them, after all.

I've never held much respect for the notion that the Saudis were directly responsible for the attacks. The Sauds have done much to change their behavior over the last couple of years, which a lot of people don't seem willing to acknowledge. I do still wonder what, long term, will become of that kingdom.
