A Few Dozen to Go...
The ex-dictator I despise most, save one, died yesterday. Idi Amin passed away, as I'm sure many of you have already heard, in a hospital bed, of natural causes, peacefully and in his sleep.
There is no justice.
In the meantime, the ex-dictator I despise the most, Mengistu of Ethiopia is still alive and well, and comfortably in Zimbabwe, under the protection of one of the sitting dictators that I despise.
There is no justice.
Then again, we did get this guy, which makes me all warm and toasty down to my toes.
Maybe there's a little justice.
Yeah but Khaddafi is still walkin around cutting deals (as if!) with the families of the Lockerbie attack.
Deals! No amount of money can substitute for justice.
You're correct Dean; there is no justice.
Except for the type of justice that a civilized government can apply directly by capturing people who plan and carry our terrorism and mass murders. So forget Idi Amin, who after all is nothing but a small piece of bad news from yesterdecades.
The main event for now is for the United States to keep up the steady pace of its war on terrorism. The growing participation in this effort by friendly countries -- and even some who in many matters are not so friendly -- shows that the Bush administrations anti-terror program is paying off. And the precision work of the Thai police in apprehending Riduan Isamuddin (Hambali) was as clean as any of the similar kind of work pulled off for many years by the Israeli Mossad and Shin Bet forces dealing with Arab terrorists and their backers.
In our dangerous world characterized by largescale clashes of cultures, terrorism can and will occur. The only answer is to maintain a permanent campaign to identify, kill, capture or otherwise neutralize the terrorists. This in fact can be done, and I think we are doing it.

Arnold,
Thats what 9/11 meant to me - that from that day forward, we'll eventually get them all. Oh, sure, some we can't get right away - but eventually just given time and patience, we'll get them all.
Its time for the human species to decide that no human being has the right to oppress his fellow people - there is no excuse! Hell awaits these tyrants, I want to send them there as fast as possible.
