Nobel Laureate From Hell

So. It appears that Yasser Arafat's al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades kidnapped and beat the crap out of the mayor of Jennin, accusing him of being "an Israeli collaborator."

The people who are really oppressing the Palestinians are the thugs running the joint. Sure is good to know that Arafat has that Nobel Peace Prize, isn't it?

Careful, Dean. We don't want you getting lumped in with the dreaded liberal sympathizers!

But seriously, Dan Drezner has a bunch of links on how Arafat and his thugs maintain their grip on the 'Peace Process'. Anyone who says that the Palestinians aren't their own worst enemy is deluding themselves.

Too bad, but it was Jenin's al-Aqsa cell, which ic "loosely tied" to Arafat, but he has no authority over them. How so? Well, Arafat told 'em to declare a 3 month truce? Did it happen? No.

Also, why is it that attacks on Palestinian intellectuals gets press coverage, but the non-violent Palestinian intellectuals and opposition groups do not? I guess its coincidential.

The occupation is the #1 enemy.

So are you saying the al-Aqsa cell aren't Palestinians? Because I'm pretty sure they are. I suppose I could have been more specific and said the 10-20% of militant, anti-Isreal Palestinians are the peaceful Palestinians worst enemy. I apologize for the rhetoric. But I stand by the statement.

As for why attacks on Palestinian intellectuals get more coverage that the intellectuals themselves, this is common to all of our current media. Violence gets press. I blame that on human nature, as opposed to some 'anti-palestinian' conspiracy.
