For The Record

I publish stuff that I think will interest you. But only because it interests me first.

"Interests" does not necessarily mean "agrees with." Even I don't agree with everything published here. I just want you to be enlightened, aggravated, titillated, annoyed, or amused by whatever you find here.

I am also glad you came by. Even if I think you're wrong about everything.

Seriously.

seriously glad?

Or seriously wrong?

Please advise.

But you're the one wrong about everything. I thought everyone knew that undisputable fact.

I'm only here cause the bear told me to come.

Hey, finding anything of interest is why the majority of people come here. That is my reason for coming, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Dean's World. Come because of the bear. Stay because of the beer.

There's something encouraging about someone who's willing to put difficult ideas out there and let people hash it out. There's also something worrisome about it. Sincerity counts, and sometimes it seems like your actual beliefs get shrouded behind the obvious glee you take in playing Devil's Advocate. It's a trust issue between writer and reader.

Generally speaking, I can assure you that if I'm playing Devil's Advocate, I make it clear that I'm playing that game. Unless I'm saying something patently ridiculous, like, "I am always right and you are always wrong."

If I make an assertion, and it's not an obvious joke, then I've made it because I believe it. You may not like it; I'm not in the business of saying things to make myself popular, nor am I in the business of making myself unpopular just to offend people.

I say what I honestly believe. I don't follow party lines. I don't claim to be perfect.
