How Cool Is That?
This isn't exactly "news," but, are you aware that the primary advisor on police affairs to Iraq's provisional government is Bernard Kerik?
This is the guy Rudy Giuliani hired to help him clean up the streets of New York. He's also the guy who was in charge of police matters during 9/11.
I don't have anything profound to say about him, except: is this guy cool or what?
Cool -- but what's he done for me lately?
As you know, I am not happy with the way our boys are being killed in the steets of Baghdad, Tikrit, Fallujah, etc. Essentially, they are being assassinated by hit-squads of lawless thugs.
If cop-killers were gunning down New York City's finest in a similar fashion here at home, I think I know what Rudy Giuliani would have done, long ago, with or without Bernard Kerik's help.
It took Guiliani more than 90 days to clean up the streets of New York, Ara.
Yeah, there was cool picture of him in either the Daily News or the NY Post a couple of days ago. He looked very Brooklynish in a loose shirt and slacks next to people in uniform.
I think President Bush should replace Paul Bremer with Rudy Giuliani. Rudy knows how to clean up a messy situation.
In all fairness, William Bratton and Howard Safir, Giuliani's first two police commissioners, also deserve a ton of credit for cleaning up the streets of New York. But Kerik clearly did an outstanding job, on 9/11 and otherwise. Good luck to him in Iraq.
Diana Moon doesn't think very highly of him.
I like Diana Moon quite well, and she can be very sweet and fun to read. But she tends to fly off the handle the moment someone contradicts her on almost any subject. So, all I'll say is: she can have her opinions, but not everyone agrees with her.
How cool is that! ;)
