French Thatcher

Well the more things change, the more they stay the same. France has a young Margaret Thatcher, only she's a hottie. Or so they say.

It makes me recall something that Thatcher herself once said: some political victories are never final, but must be won over and over again. The only question with this girl is, is she a flash in the pan, or is she the shape of things to come?

(So many people linked this I don't know who to credit.)

* Update * Matthew points us to a photo of her. Hmm!

Here's a transcript of a speech by Sabine in French, complete with a picture. Hottie indeed. http://www.liberte-cherie.com/article.php?id=134

Incidentally, the root site is a page she contributes to regularly. She's also a contributor on a related site, "Beloved Freedom."

Dean, link's broke.

But the one Matthew sent works. Not hard on the eyes at all.

I was just missing a quote mark. Fixed. But while I was at it, I added Matthew's link. ;-)

She's a perfect role model for those "Wild-on" Bush daughters. Hopefully, the French people will respond positively towards her.

I hope she's the real thing. France desperately needs her, or someone exactly like what she appears to be.

France really was a great country, once upon a time. It could be one again.

Um, guys she is pro-EU, so she is NOT a classical-liberal. Calling her the "French Thatcher" is a great insult to the Lady. Besides she will be co-opted soon enough anyway.

Et tu Dean?

France was a great country? When?

I am encouraged to see from the photograph that the women of the new Europe shave their armpits, at long last.

But I am not certain how else to respond to visions of la Liberte, l'Egalite et la Sororite.

American Classical Liberals sold some State sovereignty for a stronger guarantee of individual liberty, a strong nation, and a thriving democracy. The European Union could be all the things that the American Union has been. The problem is that right now, people pushing the EU don’t care about liberty at all...

If someone like Ms. Sabine Herold, that is someone who seems to understand that Capitalism is a Good Thing, is willing to take the reigns of the EU, it could turn into a worthwhile partner for America, as well as a strong roll model for the world...

Oh, and good lord! That woman is a hottie. She reminds me of a friend of mine. Also French. Hmm...

Paris had the second cutest girls when I was there two years ago. Prague was number one.

Not to completely hijack the thread and brutally objectify the woman....

Arnold beat me to the punch on the armpit shaving... maybe the French have started bathing regularly too?

Or was that photo airbrushed?

France is (and always was) a great (big) country, but our world needs less Thatchers, not more.
