Without a smidge of help from me, Silflay Hraka has switched over to Movable Type. Why? Because Blogspot was broken and his site was unavailable. So, with the help of a friend, he got an account at Hosting Matters and set up with Movable Type.
I want to make a few things clear for the record:
1) I only started this whole thing out of frustration with BlogSpot.
2) That frustration was caused by the fact that some of my favorite weblogs were plagued with broken permalinks, broken comments, and lost archives.
3) I only chose Movable Type becuase I know it's a sturdy, easy-to-work-with platform, and,
4) I know how to install Movable Type on Verve Hosting (and now, I know how to do it on Hosting Matters).
I have nothing whatsoever against pMachine, Blosxom, Grey Matter, or any other weblog platform. Hell, I'd have nothing against Blogger or BlogSpot if they worked right. I was just sick and tired of good writers losing their stuff because they were depending on software and services that could not be depended upon.
(Although, really, shouldn't Blogger do trackbacks by now?)
By the way, guess who else moved without a smidge of help from me? My girl Swirlspice, that's who. Good job, Boo!
Awww, thanks, man. I might have done it on my own, but you were my inspiration.
Thanks! I'd been wondered where they all were over at the warren.
I mean wondering of course. Must. Get. More. Caffeine. Brain. Malfunctioning.
Deane, are you still willing to help the deserving, or has this thing overwhelmed you? I'm trying to talk a very fine but impecunious blogger (Cinderellabloggerfeller)into making the switch.

Sorry about double post. Got fooled by sluggish dial-up connection.
Dean:
Who's giving you shit for donating your time and expertise?
Alan: I'll help your friend for the sole reason that you properly used the word "impecunious" in a sentence.
Ara: Nothing specific, just a lot of "what's so hot about MT?" comments here and on some other blogs.
That's how I ended up using MT. Rachel offered to help me set it up becuase that's what she used, so I took her up on it. Now the people I've moved to my domain from blogspt are using it because that's what's there :)
Dreamhost (www.dreamhost.com) makes setting up MT very easy, too. :-)
