Four Icons

You may remember that we've discussed different ways to view politics than the traditional, and very limiting, left-right spectrum.

Well, my buddy LT has an interesting thesis on how societies organize themselves, based on Four Icons. I gave him some minor input on a draft of his essay, and I'm flattered that he mentioned me in his introduction. It's a very thought-provoking essay.

I hope he makes his way to Detroit some time after he comes back home. I need to buy that man a beer. Or two.

Well Dean, Detroit is a little bit out of my way, but if there's BEER involved, that changes the equation a bit.

Did I mention that I'm living in a dry country?

Mmmm... beer...

Lt.,

I can just see that letter to the ol' lady:

"Dear,
I just wanted to write, and tell you how much I've missed you the past year. I'm leaving for home now, and I can't wait until I see you again!

Love,
Lt.

P.S. Gonna drop by Detroit and have a beer first. Ciao."

Hmm. Wife? Or beer? Wife or beer? Wife or beer...

A conundrum for sure!
