I remember when a certain self-described "Diva" first showed up here on Dean's World. She(?) said some ill-informed things about intellectual property laws. Then retracted them, claiming to be tired.
Last week, she(?) posted a vile screed in my comments, calling me a racist, and viciously attacking one of my commenters. I deleted her message immediately. Now I see this same woman(?) is calling people racists, spreading slander, attacking their families, and more, all apparently just because she(?) disagrees with these people.
I suspect that she(?) is mentally unhinged. I've encountered such people before. Herewith, unless I see some sort of major apology and retraction, I'll be banning her(?) from this blog. I don't put up with slander artists and trolls. Disagree with me all you want, but no slander, and no trolling.
A word to the wise: blogging's like anywhere else in life. What goes around comes around, and reputation matters. Even if it's in print.
Maybe especially when it's in print.
(Thanks to Ricky West for the heads-up on this person.)
She's also wrecked havoc and drawn other trolls to Gene Expression and the Gweilo Diaries...
That's too bad. My experience with the "blogoverse" has been that in general even those who vehemently disagree do it with class and politeness. But as you wrote, "blogging's like anywhere else in life..."
Just ban her.
Wow! I've spent the last 20 minutes reading about this and am just shocked. Strange strange stuff.
Total shock. I had heard rumblings of this stuff on other sites, but had not taken the time to read the links, etc. Poisonous stuff.
Sorry you got hit with it. :)
I had the pleasure (heh) of reading her blog a little while ago -- John Cole of Balloon Juice had pointed her out to me as one of the Blogosphere's resident loonies.
It seems like the best way to really get her goat wouldn't be to attack her but to puncture her silly self-regard with satire. How about a series of "Switch" ads?
"I'm a liberal, but sometimes I get tired of well-reasoned, honest arguments by bloggers like Matt Yglesias and Josh Marshall. I needed race-baiting over-the-top vitriol, so that's why I made the switch -- to Mac Diva."
(Nah, too much effort for a troll.)
Much better to just let the sunshine cook her.
Yeah she is pretty bad, just ban her and ignore her. She seems to be aiming to get her IP baned from every decent site in the blogosphere.
And some indecent ones too!
I'm starting to enjoy following her trail of destruction as I am finding some really good blogs and some really nice people as a result. It's not all bad.
