Last year, both the Supreme Court and that darling of the intellectual Left, the Brookings Institute, dealt separate but devastating body blows to the anti-Choice movement. It was a joy to see.
Now comes more news that is, if not quite a body blow, still a wicked kick in the shins. Watching the Establishment Reactionaries squirm on this one is going to be fun. (If you haven't figured it out yet, no political issue gets to me more than this one. I take it very, very personally. Long story.)
Now it seems that a few important Democrats are breaking ranks with the establishment. Oh frabjous day! Calooh, callay! Now if only Joe Lieberman would have the courage of his Pre-Gore convictions, I might actually be proud to pull the lever for him in the primaries next year. As opposed to holding my nose, which is more likely.
Oh Joe. You cut me to the quick in 2000, you really did.
Oh, and by the way: God bless Virginia Walden-Ford.

This has been one of my political passions, too. Since I've been dating a teacher, you can imagine the conversations I've had with her and her friends on the subject. I won't abandon it, though. I think it's too important.
I was proud that Colorado is starting to issue school vouchers, albeit in a very limited way. It's a good direction to travel.
