Chalabi On The Future of Iraq
Today's OpinionJournal has an interesting piece about a lunch meeting with Ahmed Chalabi. He's been a committed pro-Democracy activist for decades. His critics say he is a polished dilettante who's made a comfortable life in the West for the last several decades by saying things people want to hear. His fans say he is a genuine and dedicated proponent of freedom and reform for his people.
I remain an agnostic on the matter, but I do know that the man's talking good sense in this article. It gives me hope for the future.
