Jack Straw From Wichita Cut His Buddy Down

Well, he called him his "good friend," anyway. But he really laid into de Villepin, didn't he?

(By the way, do you guys have any idea how long I've been waiting for a chance to use that line?)

I can't believe it's taken this long for me to hear anyone make a GD reference to the honorable Foreign Minister. There was a photo on the front page of the Times-Union this morning of Straw and Powell chatting at the UN yesterday. The first thing I thought of was "We can share the women, we can share the wine."

Ya know, I'm not even all that fond of that song. There are probably 20 or 30 really great Dead songs, and that wouldn't even make the list for me.

Oh well. :-)

I am amazed that very few in the media reacted to Jack Straw's performance at the UN. Not knowing a lot about UN diplomacy, I was stunned to see how personal his comments were. It is clear that more than friendship is at stake here.

And I would rather refer to de Vileweasel.

Bravo, Jack.

You need to hear the Bruce Hornsby version from the tribute album "Deadicated." Find it via Kazaa. It will change your opinion of the tune.

Actually, the whole album is recommended.
