Ten years ago today, they made their first attempt to take the towers down. Six people died.

We must always remember this: their patience is as deep as their hatred, and their tentacles reach farther than you might think.

I have been telling my Ann Arbor friends since I arrivedat U-M, that radical IslamoFascism was a very dangerous phenomenon, and that they better believe that this bunch of guys were like the Nazi were for people in the last century. Of course nobody believed me, the called m e a racist, an Islamophobe etc. Then Sept 11th came along, and a few people in Ann Arbor changed their minds. However, the sad fact is that a lot of people in Ann Arbor, perhaps are still unwilling to believe or accept the facts as Dean put it so well. Leftists in Ann Arbor tend to see Islamofascists as romantic "freedom fighters" , folks who are bravely striking out against the evil, imperialist, American hegemon.
As an immigrant to the USA, I, for the life of me, just cant understand how leftists can be so deluded - deluded enough to become members of the Chomsky inspired Hate-America contingent.
Just my 2 pennies.

Sid,

I have wondered this for the past fifteen years. Remember too, that Ann Arbor voted itself a nuclear zone in a 1998 referendum. Al Gore also won 80 of the vote in 2000.
