This was a comment that was left in Campaign for Democracy and Human Rights in Iraq. I am addressing this here because we aren't allowing debate to take place in that thread. That thread is taking only comments that say yes I'm posting the button on my site. All other comments will be killed or moved to a more appropriate place.
You just don't get it do you? People who demonstrate for peace are showing a hatred of war and violence, not for the US itself, but for the greedy, fat, oil driven idiots who are pushing for this invasion. So stop with the bullshit already, get with the programme, and get out there and show the shrub and his handlers that you CAN think for yourself, that you CAN see through their lies, and that wholesale slaughter of Iraqi civilians is not the answer.

We get it I assure you, Chris. Some of the people that demonstrate for peace are misguided, some are complete morons and the rest are "leftwing- I hate anything Bush supports - even if it was our idea first" whack jobs. Now that we know you are so obviously a member of the last group, I have a couple things I want to say:
You stop with the bullshit you pre-programmed socialist shithead. You OBVIOUSLY can't think for yourself. After 8 years of believing the Clinton Administration, I can understand your confusion about LIES versus TRUTH but seriously - it's time to grow up now.
You want to stop the wholesale slaughter of Iraqi civilians?
Uh-huh. Liberation by bombing them flat. Sure, they'll be dead, but they'll be liberated, goddammit.
Just listen to yourself talking.......we support the Iraqi people, but we must not go to war with Saddam. Millons of civillians will die......
Listen up, Brad, we've developed precision munitions for a purpose: to use them. We will not be indiscriminately bombing Iraq. All that money that we have spent to make laser-guided, gps-guided, etc bobms is not going to waste. We will specifically target military installations and locations where Saddam is believed to be hiding, etc. Can you get that through your thick skull?
Good One, Brad.
Your right. Better we let Saddam kill them all one by one then let them chance surviving a liberation attempt.
I know that most of Europe is still pissed at us for driving out Hitler!
Its funny how Brad and Chris so vehemently are "for poor, Iraqi civilians", but do not offer a single alternative to the war for their freedom. Will the "human shields" rush Saddam's palace and overthrow his dictatorship? Nah, that is too risky, no?
They are not only schmucks... they are schlepping for Saddam...
Chris is British, Americans don't spell program
Programme.
Unless it was just a copy/paste.
So, Chris, how many more gouged-out eyeballs of children do you want?
P.S. Chris, do you speak German? If so, did you opt to learn the language?
You're welcome.
There is just one anomaly I never see addressed by our moronic American media. Why do none of these peaceniks ever address the immediate problems caused by Saddam Hussein himself? You never see ANY anti-war protestors with posters asking Saddam Hussein to comply with any of the past 18 SECURTIY COUNCIL resolutions. You never see ANY of these anti-war protestors with posters asking Saddam Hussein to please stop murdering one million Iraqis or Moslems.
However, you do see each one of the peace marches with banners of Mao Tse Tung, Che Guevera, and of course, the old hammer and sickle flags. Why is that? Just who is organizing these “peace” events anyway? Remember, Kim Philby formerly trolled for Soviet sympathizers amongst impressionable young British adults in the name of “international peace.”
Wow. "pre-programmed socialist shithead." I'm quite surprised at the mud-throwing in this "debate." Very hate-packed words being thrown there. Have compassion for the Iraqi civilians, but no compassion for our own citizens who simply have a different point of view? Calling people names really does nothing more than undermine the credibility of your position.
Trinity:
There was no mud-throwing at our own citizen with a different point of view.
That was venom I spewed at someone that suggested that I can't think for myself. And that we are nothing but shills for the president and his administration. Oh, by the way, I get extremely angry at people that insult/disrespect the president. (And I don't care who is president at the time - don't disrespect the office)
That "different" point of view is the exact same one being used by the anti-war protesters.
Nothing different about it. I'm sick and tired of the irony and stupidity of the so called peace marchers.
They are out there for one thing and one thing only. THEY HATE BUSH. They don't give a rat's ass about the poor people of Iraq if they did they wouldn't be Human Shields at Saddam's Palace...
Calling people names really does nothing more than undermine the credibility of your position.
#1.
I don't feel that I was calling anyone a name more like I was unveiling a a dork.
#2
The credibility of my position doesn't change because I called someone a name. Being angry doesn't make me wrong - it makes me bitchy. But then again EVERYONE knows that I'm bitchy.
Using profanity isn't any worse than some dork insinuating that anyone who supports Bush is a moron that can't think for himself.
i usually stay out of political discussions, but i was in Las Vegas last week and for the first time in my life i personally witnessed one of these so called anti-war rallies. i had no idea how it would make me feel. i am not very political but am supported of our elected officials whether i voted for them or not.
so i am standing on the sidewalk and i see a crowd marching with signs. there too far away for me to make out the signs so i move in closer. once i get in close i see about three hundred various people holding a variety of signs. most of them had very little to do with war in iraq.
i started reading the signs like: "at least hitler was elected" or signs with picture of bush captioned with the word "terrorist" and even some signs that just had variations of the phrase "america sucks".
what surprised me the most about all of this is how overcome with emotion i felt as i passed through these people. i snapped a couple of picture, but i found it hard to even look at them long enough to do that. i felt an incredible urge to break down and cry right there on the strip. i can not believe people can be so hateful of their country and leaders.
now i think protesting is a constitutional right and i am glad we have the rights to do it. but similar to what Trinity said i think signs like the ones described above and hateful name calling do nothing but make the protesters look like a bunch of complete fools. maybe a protest based on some intelligent points would be more effective? as i am sure there probably are some very valid reasons people could come up with for not going to war, but i have yet to see one of these protests, up to this point its all like shock radio. attractive to people with lower IQ's
Sandy P., were you at Omaha Beach?
No?
Then your 'you're welcome' is just empty bullshit.
Political debate, especially of the current nature, is, and always will be, a passionate event, so I won't pretend that we can all be nice and friendly when we engage, but really, I'll stick to the subject matter as best I can without resorting to calling anyone a "shithead" or a "schmuck."
"Inscrutable American"'s defense of our military because of it's use of "laser-guided, gps-guided, etc bobms" is probably not a great point to bring up in the interest of going to war, seeing as how in Afghanistan they were only 75% accurate (CDI).
What disturbs me is that, collected by basically the only person who bothered to count, we killed just as many, quite probably more, civilians in Afghanistan as innocents on September 11th.
Is Afghanistan stable? Not really. How much money did President Busch account for the country in his initial budget for the next year? 0$. Yep.
Let's not play the "I just hate Busch" game or the I'm some kind of peacenik-communist- wacko game either. The largest political protests the world has ever seen are not made up entirely of morons, Busch-haters, and misguided pacifists, as Dean would lead us to believe.
