Campaign for Democracy and Human Rights in Iraq!

"Anti-war" protestors are expressing their hatred of America's President, or America itself, by supporting Saddam Hussein's brutality, and his defiance of the majority of the world's democracies. So what better time than now to counter-protest by joining the Campaign for Democracy and Human Rights in Iraq!. I have arranged with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies to publish and promote the following graphics, which should be used to link to FDD's page on Iraqi democracy:

Animated GIFAnimated GIF (larger)

Static JPEGStatic JPEG (smaller)

Please post a comment if you plan on using this graphic, so we can compile a list of participating sites! If you want to take part, it's simple: just grab either of the two graphics above and post it to your site, with a link to The Foundation for the Defense of Democracy's pages in support of Iraq! Then be sure to leave a comment here with your web site name and URL so we'll know who you are.

Copy one of the above graphics to your server, and use the following code (or something like it) on your main page:

<a href="http://www.defenddemocracy.org/templ/display.cfm?id=247&Sub=336" target="_blank" alt="Support Democracy in Iraq!"><img src="http://www.YOUR_WEBSITE_HERE.com/iraqidemocracy.jpg" height="73" width="100" alt="Iraqi Democracy graphic">Support democracy and human rights in Iraq!</a>

Once again: to help organize things, I've agreed for now to collect the names of web sites which are carrying this graphic. So if you post this graphic on your site, please also post a comment to this article including your web site name and URL so we can verify your participation. We will more formally collect the list of sites later. But let's get this thing out to as many sites as we can!

This campaign will continue until the people of Iraq have been liberated!

* Update * - If you're having trouble downloading the graphics or getting my code above working on your site, Winds of Change may be able to help you!

* UPDATE, March 31 2003 * Further comments on this article have been suspended. We are no longer collecting web site names here. The official list of Web Sites in Support of Democracy in Iraq has superceded this article. Go there to check out the participating sites, or to submit your own web site. Further comments on this article have been closed.

"Democracy" is a terrible idea that always leads to socialism. However, that's a post-Saddam argument so I've put the banner up anyway. (The US is *not* a democracy, it's a constitutional republic. That's why the socialists are "Democrat"s and the VRWC are "Republic"ans).
