Interesting how the black politicians have to be responsible for "leveraging black voting power", rather than being responsible for just being good politicians and able to leverage voting power regardless of race. Apparently black politicians are only needed to leverage black votes, they're just tokens, they can't be legitimate leaders. And by subtle implication a black politician can't leverage non-black votes (or at least they're not needed to do so, so they shouldn't concentrate on doing so).
