Political History Question of the Week
What Vice-President of the United States--while he was Vice-President--made history by angrily, and quite ostentatiously, flipping the bird to a gaggle of reporters, with cameras snapping?
Ara Rubyan is not allowed to answer this question. (Just kidding, Ara. [grin])
Nelson Rockerfeller (sic). is this the anniversary of that event?
Rockerfeller had the best death of any vice president! Ever!
Oh.My.
Dean,
Did you ever see Danny Thomas do his famous "spit-take?" You know when you drink a cup of coffee and then see something so outrageous that you spit it all out in surprise?
That's what I did when I read this.
Hoo-ha! My gosh that was funny.....!
Thanks.
By the way, who ELSE knows what the hell Fallon is referring to?
Paul, for the record, you are one twisted individual...
...That said, Ain't life grand??
:^)
P.S. And, yes, for the record, I knew the answer to your original question.
BTW, here's something about the family I grew up in: When my little sister was 5, she named her favorite stuffed animal "Rockefeller" after watching the 1964 Republican Convention.
With me, of course. I was 11.
I guess I was a liberal even then.
Wasn't Nelson with his secretary when he died? Wasn't she taking dictation? (Sorry)
His "secretary...!"
Yeah, that's the ticket!
wink-wink-nudge-nudge
say-no-more, say-no-more!
Seriously, if anyone is interested, in this month's issue of Vanity Fair (Madonna on the cover, sorry) there is an excerpt from David Rockefeller's autobiography.
One of the interesting details is that when the World Trade Center built, the tabloids dubbed the two towers "David" and "Nelson."
