There's an old joke in political circles:
America is made up of two political parties. The Evil Party and the Stupid Party. The Republicans are, of course, the Stupid Party.
If Dasch-hole's recent comments aren't solid proof of that I don't know what is!
What else do you expect from the #1 demagogue in the U.S. Senate? If Daschle did not have a lie to tell he would have no campaign issues at all.

I am getting close in age by about 15 years to the medicare years. Will it be there? To listen to the news on it, Rosemary's comment is right on.
I will do my part in keeping it going & turn off the televison & get invlolved in making sure that it is there for me as well as my chilren. I care & do what I can by writing to my congress.
Just make sure when you're writing to people to "save Medicare," you aren't writing to some demogogue who's lying to you and saying, for example, that Bush wants to "destroy Medicare" because he wants to inject some private competition into the system.
