Almost 8 years ago, I wrote the first edition of The Straight FAQ. It is, more or less, a primer on how to go about meeting women through online personal ads. Since I dated several women I met that way, and eventually met my wife that way, I thought I might have some insights for people, which is why I wrote it. It was enormously popular at one time; in addition to tens of thousands of web hits, it was reprinted in books and on other web sites and on the Usenet. Hell, MSNBC even interviewed me about it once.

My own HTML version has been offline for two or three years, due to a variety of personal reasons, mostly having to do with being broke.

If you're interested in finding a new girlfriend (or boyfriend) you may want to check it out. It inspired hundreds of people who wrote me, and I've even heard from people who got married partially as a result of it. It needs some updating, but I'm still pretty proud of it, and glad to be able to put it back online.
