Signs that you've turned into an out-of-control news junkie

It's Saturday night, and I get home exhausted from working an overtime shift. As I sit in front of the tube with a beer, trying to relax, my lovely wife tells me that she taped an episode of Charmed. It's not her favorite show or anything, but she thinks it's cute and fun, and might be some good "mindless entertainment" to help me relax.

I said, "I don't have the mental energy for something like that right now. I just want to turn on the news and see what's going on in the Middle East."

A couple of beats went by before we both started laughing.
