Public Awareness Campaign for Abused Men
Before I head to the Big City to do some baby wrangling for the next week, I wanted to point out the latest from DAHMW:
As part of our effort to bring more awareness to society about abused men and the availability of our toll free helpline and services for men in relationships with abusive women, we have had a public awareness poster designed. This 11 x 17 poster (jpeg and tear off sheets document facsimile attached) is meant to speak to male victims of spousal/intimate partner violence. We are hoping that these posters (when placed in various public places along side of other PSA’s re: domestic violence) will help men realize that when they are emotionally, psychologically and/or physically assaulted by their intimate female partner it’s also called domestic violence.
Would you like to put some of these posters up in your local area to bring more awareness to this much ignored and hidden side of domestic violence? We are now taking orders. The “suggested donation” for each poster is $4.50 which covers shipping and handling and we are asking that you order a minimum of 10 posters. Please write us at dahmwagency@gmail.com or call 207-683-5758 to place your order.
They’re also still in need of participants for their study — several hundred short, in fact, so please feel free to copy this post and share it wherever you like. As we all know, men don’t tell, so there’s no way to know beforehand which groups or forums would be best for this. All the info you need is on the front page of the website.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!
