Rush On Elections

Rush Limbaugh only sees his influence growing this election year.

Hard to know how much of that is just self-serving hype and how much is real…

It’s all self-serving hype, but he may believe it. Limbaugh’s only real power was/is his ability to make leftists wish they could silence him- it makes them look silly while simultaneously revealing them for the thought-control freaks they are. Beyond that he’s just a talk show host, nothing more.

Not so fast, Mr. Eddy. The Obama campaign seems to be taking Mr. Limbaugh very seriously.

Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton wrote: “According to the latest exit polling data, 17 percent of voters in the Indiana primary today said they would vote for John McCain in a Clinton/McCain match-up. Forty-one percent of that number is constituted by people who voted Clinton in the primary but also indicated they will vote for McCain in the general election. That comes out to just under 7 percent of the primary electorate the number that may be attributed to a Limbaugh Effect.”

I used to be a big fan of Limbaugh, but the magic wears off after a while. He used to say you have to listen to him every day to really get what he is about, but that is a trick. Because everyone else in the universe is judged by what they are saying right now. Anyhow, here’s the last sentence of the article:

"One of my next objectives is to try and convince Republicans to cross over and vote for McCain down the road," he quipped.

I’m not so sure that’s a quip. Then again, if he’s already telling people to vote for Hillary, I guess telling people to vote for Obama in November isn’t much of a stretch.

As he frequently proclaims on radio, he’s in the entertainment industry.

He is in fact entertaining. And that’s the sum of what he’s about.

I listen to him from time to time and do agree with Arnold.
