Thoughts On A Dem “Dream Ticket”
Donklephant hates the idea.
Me? I think it’s a natural for anyone looking to unify the always-fractious Democratic Party. Although, as I’ve been saying for months, Clinton has far more to gain by being Obama’s Vice Presidential running mate than Obama would gain by being Hillary’s Vice Presidential nominee. Still, it would make history either way, and would arguably be good for the country as a whole.

If I were Obama, there is no way that I would put Hillary Clinton a sniper’s bullet away from the Oval Office. I don’t believe the old Clinton rumors… but I don’t 100% disbelieve them.

(1) Can’t agree that the ticket would be "good for the country" if they won, and
(2) Would it be "good for the country" if they lost? Or would the world point to this as evidence that the US is mired in old-school racism and bigotry?
I guess if your definition of "good for the country" is more or less the same as "in accord with politically correct ideology, with very little concern about the actual consequences" then it could be "good for the country" sure.
Running for President and Vice President is not a social experiment Dean.

I think Hillary would make a fine President. I think Obama would not, but would benefit from Hillary’s presence.
I think "in accordance with politically correct ideology" is craptacularly negative spin on showing that America is not a particularly racist or sexist country and teaching children that any American can grow up to be President of the United States.
Hey! I achieved "craptacular" status! Woohoo! It’s about time.
And I think that viewing the race as a vindication of identity politics instead of a deadly serious choice of who our next President would be is equally craptacular.
Hillary MIGHT be a survivable President. Obama would make Jimmy Carter look brilliant. McCain is not much better than Hillary.
What is craptacular about this race is the three candidates that are still in it.
