McCain Not The Same?

Michael van der Galien (and others) says that the John McCain of 2008 is not the same as the John McCain of 2000.

I think he’s exactly the same John McCain he’s always been, with a few small changes that have occurred naturally as the last 8 years have gone by. I just think that, like so many Obama fans, in 2000 a lot of people projected onto McCain traits and ideas he didn’t actually have, and to an extent they’re still doing it.

And by the way, I voted for him in the 2000 primary election, as I did this year in the 2008 primary. Yet I’ve never had a love affair for him, or a hate affair for that matter. He is just another politician to me, no more and no less, although he is one with a most impressive record as a patriot who’s sacrificed quite a bit more than most.

I will vote for him. Never even consider Hillary. Obama has never been a thought.
